Summary

As an Apprentice you will work alongside  professionals to learn and develop skills in groundwork and civil engineering. You will have the opportunity to work on exciting, specialist energy infrastructure projects.The role will assist in various aspects of construction, including site preparation, drainage, concreting and paving.

Work

As an apprentice, you'll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you'll do at work

  • Assist with site preparation and clearance
  • Learn and apply excavation, drainage, and foundation techniques
  • Install kerbs, paving, and concrete structures
  • Support with laying pipes and other groundwork duties
  • Work safely in accordance with health and safety regulations
  • Operate and maintain hand and power tools
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and contribute to team tasks
  • Attend college or training sessions as part of the apprenticeship program
  • A keen interest in civil engineering and construction
  • Willingness to learn and work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • A positive and proactive attitude
  • Ability to follow instructions and work safely
  • GCSEs in maths and English (preferred but not essential)
