After this apprenticeship
A career as a groundworker in civil engineering typically begins in an entry-level role, supporting site teams on construction projects such as roads, foundations, drainage systems, and utilities. In the early stages, individuals build practical skills in excavation, concreting, kerbing, and pipe laying, while gaining essential site safety knowledge and industry qualifications such as CSCS cards and NVQs. With experience, groundworkers can progress to skilled or senior positions, taking on more complex tasks and greater responsibility for quality and productivity.
