Monday – Friday, 08:00am – 17:00pm with a 1 hour unpaid lunch break.

Work

As an apprentice, you'll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you'll do at work

Duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Assist with the design and development of civil engineering projects, including infrastructure, drainage, highways and structures
  • Produce and amend technical drawings, plans and specifications using CAD software
  • Support site surveys, inspections and data collection activities
  • Assist in interpreting engineering drawings, data and technical documentation
  • Contribute to project planning, reporting and progress tracking
  • Support compliance with health, safety and environmental standards
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, contractors and external stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate project records and documentation
  • Provide general technical and administrative support to the engineering team

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Your training plan

  • The Apprentice will work towards their Apprenticeship Standard in Civil Engineering Senior Technician L4
  • The successful candidate will be assigned a dedicated assessor who will provide support and guidance throughout the course
  • This is a Day Release programme, which means you will attend Lincoln College, 1 day per week, term time only. This will fall within your contracted working hours

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • 1 Further Subject (grade A*/9 – C/4)
  • English and Maths (grade A*/9 – C/4)
  • Science (grade A*/9 – C/4)
  • STEM Related Subject (grade A*/9 – C/4)
