To assist with maintaining multi-occupied properties, including a 59-bedroomed care home for elderly people and people with dementia, residential homes for people living with complex disabilities, a day services centre who cater for around 40 visitors daily, a block of 10 residential flats for people requiring supported living.

As an apprentice, you'll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
1. General maintenance on the fabric of the buildings both internal and external, including painting, decorating, flooring repairs, plastering repairs, carpentry (repairs to doors, lock and door furniture fitting, door hanging etc. This is to include standard/disability access and fire doors).
2. Maintaining sanitary ware, associated pipe work and fittings, including toilets, sinks, shower mixers, taps. All hot and cold-water supply systems, heating systems, include radiator leaks, boiler checks, and system pressure checks and chemical dosing maintenance.
3. To ensure the Health & Safety for oneself, other team members, residents and staff at all times.
4. To identify areas for preventative maintenance and improvement.
5. Ensure good relationships with internal staff and clients and external customers and contractors.
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.
GREY SEAL ACADEMY LIMITED
Property maintenance operative (level 2)
Your training will be provided by both your Employer and Grey Seal Academy. All training is delivered face to face at the workplace either on site or videoconferencing, this includes one training session and one coaching session per month. You will have access to an online portfolio and virtual learning environment to assist your training and assessment during your programme.
