Summary

We are looking for Trainee Quantity Surveyors to join our Water division who are a national provider of infrastructure and non-infrastructure water and wastewater services to UK water utility companies.

Work

As an apprentice, you'll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you'll do at work

As a vital member of the team, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing and issuing subcontract enquiries and trade packages
  • Assessing and comparing subcontractors' quotes and drafting orders
  • Preparing monthly reports
  • Evaluating materials on site and labour time records
  • Paying invoices through the finance system and preparing subcontractor final accounts

As a Trainee with United Infrastructure, you’ll be given a real job from day one where you will gain hands-on industry experience, and the knowledge required to achieve a nationally recognised qualification. In order to fully develop in your role, you will be enrolled onto the Level 6 Chartered Surveyor - QS Pathway apprenticeship qualification with our training partner the University of the Built Environment. This learning pathway is delivered entirely remotely, and you will access online self-accessed or virtually delivered classroom sessions, and one-to-one support from your tutor or coach. They will also meet regularly with you and your line manager to ensure you are progressing through your programme.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • 5 GCSEs including English and Maths (grade 4-9/C-A*)

Desirable qualifications

Degree in:

  • finance or construction related subject (grade minimum 2.2 grade)
  • Quantity Surveying (grade Pass)
