Summary
Train as an Installation & Maintenance Electrician with ODS while earning and learning. You’ll gain hands-on experience across electrical installation, fault finding and maintenance, achieving a Level 3 qualification and industry-recognised professional accreditation.
Training course: Installation and maintenance electrician (level 3)
Hours Monday to Friday, (20% of time allocated to off-the-job apprenticeship training) Shifts to be confirmed. 37.0 hours a week

Work
As an apprentice, you'll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you'll do at work
Assist with installing and maintaining electrical systems and equipment
Support fault finding, diagnosis and repair of electrical installations
Carry out inspection, servicing and planned preventative maintenance
Assist with planned and reactive maintenance tasks across Council properties
Support rewiring projects and installation of new circuits as skills develop
Learn to work safely with electrical, electronic and data systems
Complete job records, learning logs and timesheets
Attend college, training sessions and complete apprenticeship assessments
Where you'll work
Training
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

The National Minimum Wage (NMW) for Apprentices is £8.00 per hour from April 2026. This applies to 16 - 18-year-old apprentices and those aged 19 and over during the first year of their apprenticeship. After this, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The wage for apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent in colllege.
