Summary
This role will be based on a new build housing and apartment development, featuring air source heat pump systems and fully electric heating solutions (no gas). The project provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience in modern plumbing and heating systems aligned with current industry standards and future regulations.
Training course: Plumbing and domestic heating technician (level 3)
Hours Monday to Friday 07:30 - 16:00. 45.0 hours a week
Possible start date: Monday 01 June 2026

Work
As an apprentice, you'll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you'll do at work
Assist with the installation of domestic plumbing systems, including hot and cold water services.
Support the installation and commissioning of air source heat pump systems.
Help install underfloor heating and low-temperature heating systems.
Assist with first fix pipework (routing, clipping, and jointing). Support second fix activities such as fitting sanitaryware, radiators, and final connections.
Learn to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications. Use hand tools and power tools safely and correctly under supervision.
Assist with pressure testing and system checks Follow all health and safety procedures, including correct use of PPE.
Help maintain quality standards and ensure installations meet specifications.
Assist with material handling, deliveries, and site logistics.
Work collaboratively with other trades on site
Maintain a clean and organised working environment.
Report any defects, issues, or safety concerns to supervisors.
Continuously develop knowledge of plumbing systems and renewable technologies.

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.
