Summary
We are looking for a motivated and reliable Building & Maintenance Apprentice to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is keen to begin a career in the construction and maintenance industry. You will work alongside experienced tradespeople, learning a wide range skills.
Training course: Property maintenance operative (level 2)
Hours Monday to Friday, 8.30 – 5 pm (1 day per week spent in college, day to be determined) Flexible hours may be required, including weekends and evenings, depending business need. 1 hour unpaid lunchbreak per day. 37.5 hours a week

Work
As an apprentice, you'll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you'll do at work
Key Responsibilities -
As a Building & Maintenance Apprentice, your duties will include:
Assisting with day-to-day building and property maintenance tasks
Learning and supporting basic trade skills including: Carpentry and joinery, Plumbing repairs, Plastering and patch repairs, Painting and decorating
Carrying out minor repairs and refurbishment works
Supporting planned and reactive maintenance activities
Safely using tools, equipment, and materials under supervision
Ensuring work areas are kept clean, tidy, and safe
Following health & safety procedures at all times
Attending college or training sessions as required completing all coursework, assessments, and apprenticeship requirements
Providing good customer service when working in occupied properties
Where you'll work
Training
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Science (grade A-C or 4-9 or equivalent)

About this company
The World of Glass (TWOG) has been a visitor attraction in St Helens for 26 years. Opened in March 2000 as a groundbreaking Millennium project, the site houses nationally significant glass collections and St Helens Council’s social and industrial history collections, alongside a library, galleries, community spaces, meeting rooms, café, shop and live glass blowing demonstrations. The site also includes one of the finest examples of a regenerative furnace in England, the Grade II* listed Tank House No. 9, a Scheduled Monument.
