Liam Raw Building are looking to appoint an enthusiastic individual to learn the carpentry and joinery trade, working on new build housing sites, covering first fix and second fix carpentry. An experienced joiner will mentor you to help you to continue to learn new skills and become qualified.
Hours Monday - Friday, hours to be confirmed. 30.0 hours a week

Work
As an apprentice, you'll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you'll do at work
In this role you will be carrying various tasks whilst working on new build houses, some of the tasks you will be completing include:
Cutting
Edging
Working on roofs, joists and floors
1st fixing
2nd fixing
Read and understand design plans
Identify and confirm joinery requirements and components against specification/drawings
Locate, handle, store, load, transport and position materials and components safely, minimising damage so they are ready for application
Maintain a clear and tidy workspace and ensure that waste materials are disposed of in accordance with current legislation
Carrying out maintenance
Working with tools such as:
Edge bander
Panel saw
Chop saw
General woodwork machines
Where you'll work
Training
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

This role will involve travelling to different work sites in the Redcar area and its surroundings. You must be able to travel reliably every day. Some locations may be hard to reach by public transport.
