As an apprentice, you'll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you'll do at work
Assist with site preparation, including clearing and setting out work areas
Support excavation activities using hand tools and machinery (under supervision)
Help install drainage systems, including pipes and fittings
Assist with concreting, including mixing, pouring, and finishing
Support the construction of foundations, pavements, and kerbing
Load and unload materials and distribute them around site
Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times
Work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with colleagues and supervisors
Where you'll work
Training
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.
