Work with a well-established main contractor on a new residential build site, gaining hands-on experience in bricklaying and construction while working towards a Level 2 Bricklaying Apprenticeship. Work
As an apprentice, you'll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you'll do at work
Laying & Building: Laying bricks and blocks in mortar for walls, foundations, partitions, and decorative brickwork
Mortar Preparation: Mixing mortar, either manually or using a machine, to the correct consistency
Site Preparation: Setting out building areas, checking measurements, and installing damp-proof courses
Material Handling: Loading, unloading, and transporting materials such as bricks, sand, and cement around the site
Tool Usage: Using hand and power tools including trowels, hammers, chisels, and brick-cutting machines safely
Maintenance & Safety: Keeping the work area safe and tidy, and maintaining equipment

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.
