Summary

Part of the Optima Group, Optima Installations Ltd is an aluminium framework, glass, and joinery contractor for commercial fit-outs within the UK. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to achieve an NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Interior Systems which will include college attendance of varying blocks at the National Construction College.

Work

As an apprentice, you'll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you'll do at work

  • Read and understand plan drawings as to set out location of partitions
  • Read and understand detailed drawings as to build what is required
  • Install structures or fixtures, such as aluminium framework, timber framework using carpenters hand or power tools
  • Shape/cut material to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, power saws
  • Measure and mark cutting lines on materials
  • Install various sizes/specifications of glass to partition system
  • Clean, protect and maintain protection to the glass

Where you'll work

Training

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Your training plan

Interior Systems Installer Level 2 Apprenticship Standard:

  • NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Interior Systems including Functional Skills (if required), which will include college attendance of varying blocks (2, 3, and 4 weeks) at the National Construction College. Travel, accommodation and expenses for college will be covered
  • On completion you will be able to apply for the Skilled Worker CSCS card.

A permanent position within team of highly skilled operatives, ranging from Site Managers, Site Supervisors to Partition Installers & Carpenters. Optional further academic training will be considered for anyone wishing to progress into one of the above roles.
