We are recruiting a Structural Engineering Technician apprentice to join our Bath Structures team. You will be involved in a variety of challenging, exciting projects, learning structural design, preparing specifications, and using software to support engineering services.
Training course: Civil engineering technician (level 3)
Hours 37.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday, 9.00am - 5.30pm. 1 hour unpaid lunch break. 37.5 hours a week

Work
As an apprentice, you'll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you'll do at work
Working on a variety of incredible projects around the world, you will have a varied role which will include:
Undertaking detailed structural engineering design (using both software and knowledge to verify rigorous calculations
Preparing technical specifications and schedules, design stage reports, structural specifications and innovative design solutions.
Planning and undertaking Computer Aided Drawings for production of design work
Using Building Information Modelling (BIM) software to design engineering services on projects, learning from colleagues and in-house training
Ensuring service and project work are carried out to a high standard within agreed deadlines and within budget
Assist in the development of computational engineering to create innovative design solutions
Representing the company as part of a team, attending design team meetings or meetings with clients and architects

Training
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.
