Summary
We are seeking a motivated, Level 6 Apprentice Civil Engineer to join our growing design office and gain hands-on experience in drafting engineering drawings, structural analysis of steel, concrete, timber and masonry structures, site investigations, drainage modelling and appraisals.
Hours Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm. 37.5 hours a week
Possible start date: Tuesday 01 September 2026
Duration: 5 Years 8 Months

Work
As an apprentice, you'll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you'll do at work
The apprentice will be designing structures and drafting engineering drawings for the construction of buildings
With the help of a senior engineer, the apprentice will undertake structural analysis of steel, concrete, timber and masonry structures
Attending meetings with architects and contractors on-site with a senior Engineer

Training
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

The candidate will be on track to achieve IEng certification with the Institution of Civil Engineers upon completion of the apprenticeship
The apprentice will be trained by an in-house senior engineer, overseeing the apprentice on real projects in the office
The apprentice will attend CPD courses delivered by other companies in the industry
Requirements
Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
English (grade C/4)
Maths (grade C/4)
3 x including Maths at Grade C minimum (grade 120 UCAS points)
Design, Surveying and Planning for Construction (grade Merit minimum)
BTEC National Diploma (18 Units) in an Engineering (grade DMM)
