Summary

Formwork carpenters contribute to the construction of projects through the preparation, installation & quality management of all stages of the formwork & falsework process. Preparing falsework that provides temporary support structures for forms & undertake formwork.

Monday to Friday, between 8.00am and 5.00pm. As a project-led business, the location of our work can vary depending on project needs. Start date may change.

Work

As an apprentice, you'll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you'll do at work

  • Form and assemble horizontal and vertical formwork as per design drawings and repair, erect and strike formworking
  • Erect, Strike formwork/falsework and its components for a range of applications including wall, slabs/bases, columns, beams and precast units to support concrete
  • Competent to safely use, store and maintain hand tools, power tools and ancillary equipment

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • 3 GCSEs or equivalent including Math & English (grade At least grade 4)

The Trade and Technical Apprenticeship programme provides you with a formal college education, leading to a Level 2 and/or 3 apprenticeship standards in your chosen vocation.
