Summary

Reporting into the department manager, the post holder will support the delivery of painting and decorating works across a variety of construction projects, whilst completing a Level 2 Painter and Decorator Apprenticeship.

Work

As an apprentice, you'll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you'll do at work

  • Supporting painting and decorating works across a range of projects and client environments
  • Learning and applying health and safety and environmental regulations, guidance notes, relevant codes of practice and site-specific requirements
  • Supporting the preparation of work areas, including protection of surfaces, safe storage of materials and maintaining a tidy working environment
  • Understanding and applying the principles of risk assessments and method statements, including Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.
