Summary

We have vacancies for an enthusiastic and hardworking apprentice electricians at our contract at Hinkley Point C. Tasks include all elements required to become an electrician including installing containment, wiring, testing and health and safety.

Hinkley Point C have a variable shift pattern dependent on the needs of the site. This will be discussed in greater detail at interview stage.

Work

As an apprentice, you'll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you'll do at work

  • Full installation on large projects at Hinkley Point C
  • Installing electrical systems across the site
  • Testing electrical systems
  • Fault finding

Training

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Your training plan

  • The apprenticeship training will be provided at Bridgwater College by University Centre Somerset College Group. Full onsite support will be provided as well as mentoring from our central learning and development team, past apprentices and experienced professionals on site
  • Following the completion of the apprenticeship, the successful candidate will receive an Electrical Installation Level 3 qualification 
  • Functional Skills in English and maths if required
  • You will become a Gold Card JIB Electrician upon completion of your apprenticeship

GCSE in:

  • Any Subject (grade C or 4 and above)
  • English (grade C or 4 and above)
  • Maths (grade C or 4 and above)
