Summary

Gain hands-on experience designing, installing and commissioning smart building control systems. Work alongside experienced engineers to learn how to manage heating, ventilation, air conditioning and energy systems that keep modern buildings running efficiently and sustainably.

Hours
Monday to Friday, 08.30 - 16.30. When working on construction sites hours may need to be flexible and any associated overtime will be paid accordingly.
37.5 hours a week

Work

As an apprentice, you'll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you'll do at work

  • Commission BMS systems on consturction sites, including setting up controllers and input/output points
  • Produce detailed BMS control panel drawings using AutoCAD
  • Work in the panel shop to assemble and wire BMS control panels

Training

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4 or above)
  • Maths (grade 4 or above)

Desirable qualifications

Other in:

  • Electrical Installation (grade Pass)
