Summary

A Carrier Rental Systems apprenticeship is a great opportunity to kick-start your career with a global leader in climate and energy solutions.  This role will be depot & field based to cover Bracknell and surrounding areas. 

Annual wage: £20,000 a year

Training course: Refrigeration air conditioning and heat pump engineering technician (level 3)

Hours
Monday to Friday in workplace, with one day per week in college. Shifts to be confirmed.
40.0 hours a week

Work

As an apprentice, you'll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you'll do at work

  • Working on Water Chillers and commercial and industrial Heat Pumps. 
  • Attend and participate in customer site visits, shadowing one of our qualified Technicians.
  • Learning about refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
  • Working on fans and air handling equipment.
  • Installing the full HVAC solution including temporary hoses, cable and ancillaries.
  • Helping to troubleshoot and support technically challenging breakdowns, both in person and remote.
  • Working on electrical power supplies and control panels.
  • Working on pumps and water hydraulics and hydronics.
  • Learning about digital control systems and basic BMS (Building Management Systems). 

Where you'll work

Training

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade Grade C / 4 or above)
  • Maths (grade Grade C / 4 or above)

Desirable qualifications

GCSE in:

  • Science or Engineering (grade Grade C / 4 or above)
