Summary

This apprenticeship will see you working with design consultants, suppliers, and installers to deliver integrated, systems-based engineering for buildings. Using digital tools, we design and deliver efficiently from concept to handover, improving cost, quality, programme, and safety.

Hours
Monday to Friday between 8am to 5pm. As a project-led business, the location of our work can vary depending on project needs. This role may require you to be prepared to work away from home at project sites across the UK.

Work

As an apprentice, you'll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you'll do at work

Key Deliverables and Accountabilities of a Trainee BEMS Engineer   

  • To learn and understand automated control systems
  • To be able to read a specification and apply control principles associated with the design to create engineering documentation
  • Understand communications technology and standard industry protocols
  • Understanding the requirements for the installation of electrical wiring systems
  • To learn, understand and manage the production automated application software, system graphical user interface (GUI) and Digital engineering (DE)
  • Assist the commissioning and point to point testing and commission control panels (CP) to monitor and control mechanical systems
  • Adhere to all company policies & procedures, particularly to health & safety 

A Trainee BEMS engineer will provide valuable support to our technical function and project delivery teams as we achieve our business priorities and client requirements.  You can expect to be involved with a range of our technical and operations activities. For example:  

  • Design development and management 
  • Procurement 
  • Sub-contractor management 
  • Installation activities
  • Commissioning activities
  • Planning and project controls 
  • Knowledge sharing and industry best practice 
  • Assurance and compliance  

Where you'll work

Training

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.
