Summary

Paul Basham Associates is a fast-growing and award-winning Transport Planning, Travel Planning, and Civil & Structural Engineering consultancy. We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Civil Engineer to support with the technical aspects of a diverse range of projects within an expanding Civil Engineering team.

Monday - Friday. Shifts to be confirmed.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Work within a Civil Engineering design team responsible for the design of drainage systems, highway layouts, and S278/S38 schemes
  • Work in a design office, with regular exposure to developers, architects and local authorities
  • Shadow more senior members of staff and support project work as required

Training

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Civil engineer (level 6)

Your training plan

  • You will have the opportunity to work towards a Level 6 qualification in Civil Engineering with ongoing support and on the job training with a friendly and enthusiastic team, keen to get you involved from the outset
  • You will be based within the office for 4 days per week
  • The remaining 1 day will be spent at University on day release 
  • BSc or BEng Civil Engineering degree

Desirable qualifications

A Level in:

  • relevant subject, i.e. Maths, Statistics, Physics (grade BBB-BBC)
  • UCAS points from 2/3 A-Levels in relevant subjects (grade 112-120 points)
  • relevant subject (grade Merit)
  • Relevant subject (grade DDM-DMM)
