Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Once fully trained, your key responsibilities would be:
Installation & Repair: Assist in wiring, installing site temporary power ranging from 110v – 400v, placing lighting fixtures, and replacing components such as switch gear and transformers.
Troubleshooting: Help diagnose and fix electrical malfunctions and issues.
Blueprint Reading: Interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, and technical documents.
Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, regulations, and electrical codes diligently.
Tool & Material Management: Maintain tools, organise materials, and transport equipment.
Laying out, assembling, testing, and repairing wiring systems.
Working with various tools for cutting, glanding, bending, and manipulating wires/conduit.
Working at heights (ladders, scaffolds, powered access equipment)
Communicating with team members and potentially clients about project needs or issues.
