Summary
You’ll gain hands-on experience supporting live tunnelling and trenchless projects while studying for your Quantity Surveying Technician qualification. This is an excellent opportunity to build a career in construction estimating and cost management with a respected specialist contractor.

Hours Monday - Friday, 07:30 - 17:00 with 2 x 30 minute breaks 40.0 hours a week

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
General duties including:
Assisting estimators and project managers with preparing budgets and cost plans for trenchless and tunnelling works
Gathering supplier and subcontractor quotations and building tender comparisons
Measuring drawings and quantities to support bid submissions
Maintaining databases of material, plant, and labour costs
Assisting in financial tracking and reporting on live projects
Helping to prepare client quotations, progress valuations, and cost summaries
Learning about commercial risk, procurement, and cost control in specialist civil engineering

Training
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Other in:
construction, engineering, or estimating (grade Prior work-experience/interest)
technical or business subject (grade Level 2)

Must Be 18+ You must be able to travel to and from work and college. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
