Summary
Working for a small family firm with 50 years of experience in the trade. All employees are trained carpenters with experience in other trades. The role consists of on-site shopfitting work, including carpentry, painting and decorating, suspended ceilings, flooring, etc.
Hours In Leicester 8am- 4.30pm On site 8am- 7pm 40.0 hours a week

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Apprentice Shopfitting to learn carpentry and joinery, plus other aspects of the trade, including painting and decorating, flooring, suspended ceiling hanging, etc.
Employees are expected to be eager to learn and have a basic knowledge of carpentry and joinery
Willing to work as part of a team to complete shop fits on time and to a high standard
Workshop machinery, including sheet saws, rip saws, spindle moulders, etc., is all in our workshop, and training will be provided to be able to set up and use them to manufacture the required fixtures and fittings for the projects
Must be willing to work out of town, returning at weekends
A driver's licence is preferred but not essential

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
English (grade 2/D)
Maths (grade 2/D)

Heavy lifting, long days. Need a positive work ethic and able to deal with on site culture. Need to be able to listen to instruction to get the projects done on time.
