Summary

A fantastic opportunity to be part of the NCS team, based in Hertford. Established in 2000, NCS are proud to install and service gas, oil & LPG boilers in homes across the South East. The training/coaching received on this apprenticeship programme will help you build the skills and knowledge to enable you to become a qualified Gas Safe Engineer.

Monday-Friday, between 8am-5pm.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • To support the NCS Gas Engineer operatives with a positive approach to all types of gas-related work to gain the required practical skills and knowledge to become a qualified Gas Engineer
  • To learn about working in the gas industry through hands-on experience, mentoring and training
  • To support qualified Gas Engineers with tasks related to gas installation, service and maintenance
  • Essential personal attributes are attention to detail and practical problem-solving abilities
  • To have excellent communication skills and work well in a team

Training

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Your training plan

  • Four days per week in the workplace, at various customer locations, learning on the job from experienced professionals
  • One day per week day release training at CK Assessment and Training in Nazeing, near Broxbourne, Herts, EN10 6SX, for up to 18 months

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4)
  • Mathematics (grade 4)
  • Plumbing (grade Pass)
