Summary
A slating and tiling apprenticeship trains individuals to become skilled roofers, specialising in the installation and repair of pitched roofs using materials such as natural slate, clay tiles, concrete tiles, and associated roofing systems.
Hours Monday - Friday, between 7.00am - 4.00pm. 40.0 hours a week

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Installing and repairing slate and tile roofs
Measuring, cutting, and fixing slates and tiles to pitched roofs
Working with underlay, battens, flashing, and verge details
Identifying different roof structures and coverings
Using hand and power tools safely
Interpreting technical drawings and roof plans
Understanding building regulations and health & safety procedures

Training
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.
