Summary

DPR Home Improvement Limited has an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to join their experienced team of Installer, gaining a Level 2 apprenticeship in Fenestration Installer. The successful candidate will be mentored by an experienced team who will support individuals to become fully skilled & qualified in this industry.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

On a day-to-day basis, as an apprentice, you will be doing the following:

  • Learn how to remove old & install new windows, doors & conservatories
  • Use a variety of specialised tools to undertake all the projects, including manual and power tools
  • Site cleanliness
  • Loading, unloading, and general labouring
  • Site health and safety rules and regulations
  • As an apprentice working in and around properties, you will have good customer service skills and a polite outlook

Your training plan

Fenestration Installer Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard:

  • All aspects of your training will be delivered on-site with your employer
  • As an apprentice, you will receive from your employer a set number of hours each week for your off-the-job training, which is included as part of your working weekly hours
  • Off-the-job training is there to help with your learning and development of the knowledge, skills and behaviours as part of your apprenticeship standard
  • Majority of these hours will be spent on site with your mentor learning, along with having time set aside away from your normal day-to-day working environment for you to complete study time in which will help you with the completion of targets set by your assessor (e.g. workbooks, online learning, research, self-study).
  • You will also have regular site visits every ten to twelve weeks from your designated assessor, who will monitor your progress throughout your apprenticeship program

  • Maths & English (grade A*- C / 9 - 4)

Please be aware we work outside as well as inside on our jobs as they demand, as such you may be out in the cold for long periods of time. The work can also be physically quite demanding so please consider this before applying. Please note that interviews may take place before the vacancy close date and the successful applicant may start before the advertised start date. Please note there will be a paid 2 week trial prior to starting with us.
