Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice Engineer at Advance Fire and Security Systems based from the North Shields premises - with excellent prospects to grow within the role and receive first class training.
Training course: Fire emergency and security systems technician (level 3)
Hours 08.30-5.00pm Monday to Friday (40 hours per week with 30 mins lunch break) 40.0 hours a week
Possible start date: Monday 29 September 2025
Duration: 2 Years 9 Months

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
The role is varied and will involve both installation and maintenance work and duties will include:
Carrying out 1st and 2nd fix for installation of intruder alarms, CCTV, access control and also fire safety systems (pulling cables through and affixing equipment to walls etc.)
Use of hand tools & cordless drill
Attending routine maintenance and service calls
Fault finding and commissioning systems
Completion of site paperwork
Working to company procedures and following all health & safety guidelines
Applicants should be willing to attend day release at Team Valley, Gateshead (one day per week)
It is desirable that applicants should also be able to drive, or interested in learning in the near future

You will attend Access Training (Team Valley, Gateshead) for day release either a mixture of weekly and fortnightly and be enrolled on the Fire, Emergency and Security Systems level 3 apprenticeship standard.

English (grade 4)
Maths (grade 4)
