Mon–Fri, 08:00–17:00, with early starts for site visits as needed. Apprentice must live in Hammersmith & Fulham borough.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • You will spend a significant amount of time working directly on civil engineering projects, gaining hands-on experience in areas like construction, design, surveying, and project management
  • You will rotate through different departments or teams to experience a variety of roles and gain a well-rounded understanding of the civil engineering industry
  • You will attend a college, typically on a part-time basis, to study for a civil engineering BTEC
  • The apprenticeship typically includes assessments, exams, and coursework to ensure the apprentice gains theoretical knowledge alongside practical skills
  • You will receive guidance from experienced professionals who act as mentors. This support helps them navigate complex engineering tasks and provides valuable insights into their professional development
  • Regular performance reviews and feedback ensure that the apprentice is progressing and meeting learning objectives
  • Throughout the apprenticeship, apprentices will focus on developing both technical and soft skills. They’ll learn to apply engineering principles to real-world problems and improve skills like communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership
  • As you progresses, you will be involved in specialised training in areas such as software tools (e.g., AutoCAD), advanced project management techniques, or sustainability practices in engineering
  • By the end of the apprenticeship, you will have a BTEC Level 3 Diploma and the necessary practical experience In civil engineering
