Training course: Civil engineering technician (level 3)
Hours Mon–Fri, 08:00–17:00, with early starts for site visits as needed. Apprentice must live in Hammersmith & Fulham borough. 40.0 hours a week

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
You will spend a significant amount of time working directly on civil engineering projects, gaining hands-on experience in areas like construction, design, surveying, and project management
You will rotate through different departments or teams to experience a variety of roles and gain a well-rounded understanding of the civil engineering industry
You will attend a college, typically on a part-time basis, to study for a civil engineering BTEC
The apprenticeship typically includes assessments, exams, and coursework to ensure the apprentice gains theoretical knowledge alongside practical skills
You will receive guidance from experienced professionals who act as mentors. This support helps them navigate complex engineering tasks and provides valuable insights into their professional development
Regular performance reviews and feedback ensure that the apprentice is progressing and meeting learning objectives
Throughout the apprenticeship, apprentices will focus on developing both technical and soft skills. They’ll learn to apply engineering principles to real-world problems and improve skills like communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership
As you progresses, you will be involved in specialised training in areas such as software tools (e.g., AutoCAD), advanced project management techniques, or sustainability practices in engineering
By the end of the apprenticeship, you will have a BTEC Level 3 Diploma and the necessary practical experience In civil engineering
