Summary
The property maintenance officer carries out a varied role in our properties. No day is the same as appointments will vary from investigatory work to minor fixes to turning around void properties. An important role is to support families and vulnerable people that we home live in safe and secure properties.
Training course: Property maintenance operative (level 2)
Hours Monday- Friday 9:30am- 5:30pm 40.0 hours a week

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Carry out general maintenance and repair tasks across properties, including:
Basic plumbing
Electrical work
Lock changes
Painting
Decorating
Occasional gardening
Support inspections, move-ins/outs, and fault investigations
Use a range of trade skills to complete planned and responsive repairs, ensuring properties remain safe and well-maintained
Participate in on-call rota and assist with maintaining both internal and external building standards

GCSE in:
Maths (grade 9-4)

Other requirements
Due to the nature of the business. An understanding of some of the service users’ backgrounds is needed. Empathy for their situation is a trait that would support your application. Having a full driving license is considered an advantage as you made be required to travel to the employer.
