Summary

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice Fire and Security Engineer based from the North Shields office. There is an excellent opportunity to progress and grow within the company for the right candidate who is enthusiastic and keen to learn new skills.

Monday to Friday, 8.30am-5.00pm. 30 mins lunch break

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

The role is varied and will involve both installation and maintenance work and duties will include:

  • Carrying out 1st fix and 2nd fix for installation of fire safety systems, intruder alarms, CCTV, access control systems etc. (pulling cables through and affixing equipment to walls)
  • Use of hand tools & cordless drill
  • Attending routine maintenance and service calls
  • Fault finding
  • Completion of site paperwork and liaising with customers on site
  • Working to company procedures and following all health & safety guidelines

The successful apprentice will be required to attend day release at Access Training on Team Valley, Gateshead (this may be 1 day per week or 1 day per fortnight dependent upon the phase of the course you are in).

It is desirable that applicants should also be able to drive (not essential) or interested in learning in the near future. Probationary period applies.

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4)
  • Maths (grade 4)
