Summary

CS Home Solutions, based near Heathfield, is offering an exciting electrical apprenticeship. Work alongside our Electrical Director, building real-world skills, and grow within a friendly team covering a wide range of home repair projects.

Monday to Friday, 8 am - 4 pm or 9 am - 5 pm.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • As an electrician, you will be involved in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, including lighting, sockets, machines, and alarms etc.
  • Identify electrical problems using a variety of testing devices
  • Assist in the installation, testing and maintenance of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures using hand tools and power tools

Training

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Your training course

Installation and maintenance electrician (level 3)

Your training plan

You will be completing the Level 3 Electrical Installation apprenticeship, which will be three years for someone with a Level 2 Electrical qualification.
 
If you are 16-18 and don’t have GCSEs grade 4 or above (or equivalent), then you will be required to undertake Level 2 Functional Skills alongside the apprenticeship. If you are 19+ and don’t hold maths and English qualifications, then they are optional alongside the apprenticeship. This will be discussed alongside the employer to decide whether the maths and English qualifications are included in the apprenticeship.
 
Day-release will be at the Eastbourne campus, once a week, term time only. An assessor will visit you every 10-12 weeks onsite. Please ensure you can travel to this location in East Sussex before applying. Hampden Park Train Station is a 15-minute walk from the station.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4 (C))
  • Maths (grade 4 (C))
  • Level 2 electrical qualification (grade -)

A driving licence is essential for this role but if you live in Crowborough or Heathfield, we can arrange a meet up point locally.
