Summary
As an apprentice, you will work closely with seasoned professionals, gaining invaluable experience and developing job-specific skills essential for a successful career in plumbing. Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
As you progress through the program and deepen your technical knowledge, your responsibilities will expand to include (but not limited to):
Interpreting and following plumbing drawings, specifications, and work instructions
Installing various plumbing fixtures and components, such as sinks, toilets, showers, bathtubs, pipes, valves, and fittings
Ensuring the proper alignment, levelling, and support of plumbing systems in compliance with codes and regulations
Joining pipes using methods such as soldering, crimping, and threading, and performing leak and pressure tests to ensure system integrity
Commissioning and adjusting plumbing systems for optimal water flow and drainage

Training
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Other requirements
You will need to travel to Hull for your weekly day release. We will aim to place you on our building sites in East Yorkshire, however that is not always possible - you may be asked to travel to other sites across West, North and East Yorkshire, van share is possible. You will occasionally be required to travel to our Head office in Dunnington.
