Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is willing to learn and play an important role in supporting a growing local business for general building. The role will include a combination of building and landscaping.

Annual wage: £15,704 a year

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

You will learn to lay bricks, blocks, and other building components in mortar to construct and repair walls, foundations and other structures. 

Construction & Landscaping Tasks: Involves constructing and refurbishing brickwork and masonry on various projects, including restoration work.

Training

How will the apprentice be assessed?
Portfolio of evidence requirements:

  • Apprentices must compile a portfolio of evidence during the on-programme period of the apprenticeship, typically during the last 10 months of their apprenticeship
  • It must contain sufficient evidence, gathered within the workplace, to demonstrate the KSBs that will be assessed by the oral questions
  • It will typically contain 15 pieces of evidence
  • Evidence must be mapped against the KSBs
  • Day release at Rugby or Moreton Morrell College
  • Level 2 Bricklaying Apprenticeship Standard

GCSE in:

  • English, Maths (grade 3/D+)
