Apprentice Bricklayers will work alongside qualified and experienced bricklayers learning the trade and assisting in all aspects of bricklaying, including brickwork, blockwork and all other duties as and when required. Always working safely and responsibly, with a positive and enthusiastic approach to work and training.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Bricklayers lay bricks, blocks and other types of building components in mortar to construct and repair walls, foundations, partitions, arches and other structures e.g. chimney stacks. They might also refurbish brickwork and masonry on restoration projects
The range of sites and projects that bricklayers will work on include large new builds in housing
Work one-on-one or on larger jobs where their bricklaying group (gang) may work on a particular section of a building alongside other bricklaying gangs as well as other trades

Your training plan
The Candidate will follow a Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard programme and study towards a full Level 2 Bricklaying Standard. This training will be structured and delivered by Cheshire College - South & West. Candidates will need to have maths and English qualifications at GCSE grade 3 or higher, or Functional Skills Level 1 or higher. Additional qualifications in either sciences or construction related topics are desirable but not essential.
