Summary

Redfern Group are looking for a Painting and Decorating Apprentice to join their growing team. You will be dealing with all aspects of Painting and Decorating whilst working towards a Level 2 Painter and Decorator Apprenticeship.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Adhering to general health, safety and welfare in the workplace
  • Cut in and paint to a very high standard
  • Preparing surfaces by sanding down, priming, mist coat and undercoat
  • Painting walls, ceilings, skirting boards.
  • Applying layers of paint to different surfaces i.e. plasterboard, timber, metal and hanging wallpaper
  • Glossing woodwork, skirting boards, bannisters, doors

Training

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.
