Painting and Decorating Apprentice

Summary

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Decorating Apprentice. This is an excellent opportunity to start a career in the painting and decorating trade. You will be working in the Mansfield area learning from experienced professionals while gaining hands-on experience and a nationally recognised qualification.

Mon to Thurs 8am- 4.30pm. Fri 8am-3.30pm.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Assist with surface preparation including sanding, filling, and priming
  • Learn and apply various painting techniques (brush, roller, and spray)
  • Support wallpapering, varnishing, and other decorative finishes
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working order
  • Follow health and safety procedures on-site
  • Keep workspaces clean and organised
  • Work as part of a team on residential and commercial projects

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Your training plan

This programme is delivered via a day release delivery model, which means that one day per week, your attendance is required at our Construction Campus (NG17). This attendance is required during term time only.

You will work with expert assessors and tutors to develop new knowledge, skills and behaviours within the profession.

You will experience a blended learning model.
